Migration and tourism statistics, also known as the travelling residents and visitors statistics, reports the number of travelling residents and visitors and the purpose of their travel.

Key findings:
1) There was a total of 2,537 Niuean and 6,379 Non-Niuean visitors for the year 2016.
2) September quarter saw the highest number of arrivals (3,991), as well as the highest number of visitors totaling 3,487 (554 Niuean visitors and 2,933 Non-Niuean visitors).
3) For the year 2016, a total of 23 persons stated they were leaving permanently with 41 visitors intending to become residents.
